2. CLIENT INFORMATION
Read carefully and inform the tattoo artist if you have concerns about your suitability for a tattoo.
Tattooing and healing carry risks and potential complications, as explained. Aftercare instructions will be provided to minimize these risks.
• Pain, redness, and swelling are normal. If symptoms worsen during healing, seek medical advice, as this may indicate an infection.
• Some risks depend on your health. Inform the artist to ensure necessary precautions.
• Tattoos are permanent and are not removable.
3. AFTERCARE & INFECTION RISKS
Activities to Avoid During Healing:
• No bathing, swimming, or saunas until fully healed. Showers are allowed per artist's advice.
• Avoid sun exposure & tanning beds for two months. Cover unhealed tattoos; use sunscreen only on healed tattoos.
• Wear clean clothing that touches the tattoo.
• Do not pick scabs or scratch.
• Avoid antiseptics & antibiotics without medical advice.
Signs of Normal vs. Abnormal Healing:
Normal Signs:
• Light fluid discharge (clear/pinkish).
• Redness and mild swelling, decreasing daily.
• Fever/chills within 12 hours (should not persist).
Infection Warning:
• Increasing or discolored discharge, foul odor.
• Spreading redness, pain, throbbing, or burning.
• Trouble moving the area.
• Red streaks from the tattoo → Seek emergency care.
• High fever, flu-like symptoms → Seek medical help.
If You Suspect an Infection:
• See a doctor and inform your tattoo artist.
• High-risk individuals (e.g., diabetes, immune issues) should seek care immediately.

• Wear comfortable clothing – Choose loose, for easy access to the tattoo area
• Arrive clean & ready – Shower beforehand and avoid lotions, perfumes, or tanning products.
